Screening Africa at the Africa Centre presents Football Fables with director Q&A
To coincide with the "Football Fables" DVD release, Screening Africa at the Africa Centre presents another chance to see this internationally acclaimed, multi-award winning debut film from director Baff Akoto.
African football now has a higher profile and more global stars than at any other time in history. But what does it take to make the transition from a rural African field to a top European football club? If he’s good enough, how does a young Ghanaian come to the attention of Real Madrid or Manchester United?
"Football Fables" lifts the lid on the inner workings of football migration from the continent to Europe, featuring some of the most accomplished voices in African football including Abedi "Pele" Ayew & Sulley Muntari. The film unfolds through the eyes of Francis, a talented teenager on the brink of a dream transfer. His talent is undoubted, his desire immeasurable, but will that be enough to secure his future?
The screening will be followed by an audience Q&A with director Baff Akoto. Copies of the "Football Fables" DVD will be available for purchase on the day. Alternatively, to pre-order your copy, visit www.footballfables.co.uk
